Northern Minnesota Hockey Camp was founded in 2019, as an avenue to provide a development camp located in Bemidji, MN and to help fund a second ice sheet at the Bemidji Community Arena.
The Camp was founded with the intent to offer an opportunity for Bemidji hockey players to "stay home" and also provide an opportunity to invest any profits in the Bemidji Youth Hockey Association.
BYHA is unique in that it is a non-profit, volunteer-run, youth hockey program that operates a rink with no City, County, or State subsidies
Founded on the principle of providing the best development for our local hockey youth, NMHC focus is to provide a development camp that is FUN, highly efficient and cost friendly. All proceeds of our camp are re-invested into our local Bemidji Youth Hockey Association.
As we grow and expand our reach, We have kept to those same ideals and developed an integrated strategy from some of the development hotbeds in the world. We have utilized our local hockey experts to help us design a camp that incorporates the best developmental ideals from national governing bodies like Finland, Sweden, Germany, Canada, and USA Hockey.
With a focus on keeping a low player to coach ratio, we optimize on-ice development through stations, and small games. Off-ice skill development as well as a building athleticism are a focus on the Day camp.
At the Bantam and High School levels, we start to focus on position specific skill development and a more conceptual focus on playing each position.
Come and join the fun in the State of Hockey’s “North Star” Bemidji, Minnesota.
